Bethany Halbreich

Creative Strategist & Global Impact Leader

Mentor

Bethany is always thrilled to help students hone their passions, create something larger than themselves, and develop leadership and management skills. Bethany has been an entrepreneur since age six, and her many years of experience inform her systematic yet adaptive approach to coaching. As a lifelong creator who has managed many projects across industries, she understands the importance of strong systems and processes—especially when working under the constraints of students’ busy schedules. She aims to understand what students truly care about and then help them structure, implement, scale, and evolve their work to elevate potential impact.

Beyond her work at UCurricula, Bethany is the founder and executive director of Paint The World, a nonprofit that has worked in 23+ countries using art to unify communities and devise collaborative solutions to local challenges. She deeply believes that access to creative tools empowers us to further social progress and pioneer solutions to our greatest challenges. Bethany also runs the innovation strategy & design firm Incipe Labs, which has supported many Fortune 100 companies. Previously, she co-founded and built two innovation labs in the academic and culinary spaces, working closely with PepsiCo R&D's Culinary Innovation Lab to promote creativity and sustainability.

In addition, Bethany directed the onsite operations of THINK Global School, the first and only traveling high school, to empower the next generation of leaders through travel and cultural immersion. Before that, Bethany worked to integrate a financial literacy curriculum in rural high schools with the Thai Royal Family’s Foundation; empowered young entrepreneurs with Ashoka and Do Something; and facilitated a social impact incubator for University of Pennsylvania students and alum.

Bethany holds her B.A. from NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study, concentrating in Sustainable Development, Entrepreneurship, and Global Initiative, and her M.S.Ed. in Education Entrepreneurship at the University of Pennsylvania. She has completed executive education programs with Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government as well as IDEO U.

Bethany is an avid traveler, has been to over 100 countries, and completed the Mongol Rally (a 14,000-mile drive from Prague, through the Stans, to Mongolia) in 2019.
